Loyalty and growth
Lectures at Customs House are always at capacity, with the average number of attendees at each lecture sitting at approximately 180, with well over 200 RSVPs to each event. Waiting lists are kept for oversubscribed lectures in order to reach as many alumni as possible.
Below are a few of the many comments and positive feedback we have received from our alumni following lectures at Customs House, Brisbane:
“I really enjoyed both the lectures and learnt so much in the post lecture discussion. Matt was generous with his time and had the gift of presenting a complex topic in an understandable way.”
“Thank you BEL Faculty... excellent!”
“I thought the private VIP session activity was very clever and helped bring people together to make them feel special and to learn a little more in the topic."
In 2016, two lectures will be presented in both Melbourne and Sydney due to the popularity of the series and growth in these alumni networks.
History
The ALS was launched by The University of Queensland's Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL). In 2009 the series began with two events, providing alumni and friends of the BEL Faculty an opportunity to network and gain valuable insights into leadership, entrepreneurship and leading management practices within the Australian and global competitive environments. The series has since grown to incorporate five annual events in Brisbane and expanded its geographic reach to include up to four interstate events, accommodating the needs and interests of alumni living and working interstate.
Today, the ALS continues to attract a diverse range of high calibre, high profile speakers and alumni from a variety of industries, including banking, IT, the public sector, financial services, law, real estate, tourism, and the energy and resources sector.
