Consulting and partnerships
The BEL Faculty has a strong history of engaging with both industry and government. Researchers within our three Schools of Business, Economics and Law are keen do further collaborations to provide highly translatable outcomes to business and the community.
BEL Faculty's Research Partnerships Manager, Annita Nugent, is the primary point of contact for facilitating researchers’ engagement with industry, in support of the University’s goal to double industry sourced research funding by 2020. They work closely in conjunction with the Associate Dean, Research, to build and maintain effective and productive interaction with industry partners as they seek to engage with the University. The Research Partnerships Manager is also responsible for managing the research contract establishment and welcomes being involved from initial negotiations onward.
Research may be conducted by individual academics or via groups across the faculty that may be drawn together via Australian Institute for Business and Economics (AIBE). Uniquest is the main commercialization company at The University of Queensland and aims to grow the capacity of industry by packaging innovation and expertise into various industry offerings.
