If you require support for coordinating an event, please complete the Event Brief Form.

This will help you lay the foundations for a successful event and help us ensure we are providing you with strategic and effective marketing and communications support.

Why and how to complete the form

We kindly ask that you dedicate adequate time and consideration to filling out the Event Brief Form thoroughly as it becomes the 'instruction booklet' and deliverables list for your event – assisting the BEL Events team in making sure we provide you with the best support and resources possible. The team manages more than 170 events in a year with most of these condensed into the weeks during the semester.

We also ask that the person managing the event (with all the inside information) is the person completing the form, not someone else on your behalf. This ensures all information is accurate and no information gets lost in translation.

If you have any questions or concerns when completing the form or adding events to the BEL Events Calendar, please email events@bel.uq.edu.au.

Promoting an event

The BEL Marketing & Communications team can also assist with promoting events if required. Ideally, a marketing plan would be created at the same time the event is first formulated or considered as a tactic to achieving an organisational objective/goal.

Please indicate if support is required on your Event Brief Form or alternatively complete a Project Brief Form. If an event requires last minute promotion to boost attendance numbers, any requirements will be considered on a case-by-case basis depending on the workload of the team and the strategic priority of the event.

Protocol

If your event includes VIPs such as Ministers, Nobel Laureates, Major Donors and other dignitaries, please contact BEL Events for assistance in working with Protocol.

Read more about when to involve UQ Protocol (UQ log-in required).

UQ-wide events

The BEL Events team coordinates BEL’s presence at UQ-wide and DSR events, such as Open Day, TSXPO and Young Scholars.
