Debbie commenced her career in the hospitality industry before moving into the human resources and recruitment sector.
With more than 25 years’ industry experience as a hiring manager across a wide range of disciplines and organisational environments, Debbie brings a wealth of experience to assist students with improving their employability skills and experiences to help them on the path to long-term career success.
Debbie holds a Bachelor of Counselling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology, and a Graduate Certificate in Career Development from the Australian Centre for Career Development.
Areas of responsibility
- Providing career counselling, career planning and career development for all students, with a focus on increasing student employability skills.
- Providing industry insights and advice for BEL students, primarily students studying tourism, hospitality, events management.
- Managing professional student placements for our Work Integrated Learning program within the areas of tourism, hospitality and event management.
- Engaging with industry professionals across multiple disciplines, with a focus on obtaining and managing tourism, hospitality, and events management industry placements (Work Integrated Learning).
- Developing resources and events, and delivering employability lectures to develop student’s employability skills.
