For more than 20 years, Carlene has carved out a diverse and exciting career, spanning various roles in private, government and not-for-profit sectors.

In business, Carlene has worked in finance and accounts departments for a financial institution, stockbroker, wholesale merchants, small business, retail companies, credit companies, and managed a government bookshop.

In education, Carlene has assisted unemployed youth to gain employment through a TAFE program, worked in statistics, educational assessment, and provided high-level executive administrative support.

And in life, Carlene has also been a basketball statistician, amateur photographer, and a freelance actor. Carlene brings a holistic, creative, and practical approach to her role, and strives to inspire students to become leaders and make a positive difference through their work.

Carlene holds a Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) from Flinders University, a Master of Education (Applied Linguistics) from the University of New South Wales, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Areas of responsibility

  • Coordinating the BEL SET Community Engagement Program (CEP).
  • Developing resources and events for BEL students participating in the CEP program and other BEL SET activities.
  • Engaging with industry and generating opportunities for student to engage and network with the non-profit sector.
  • Consulting with BEL students to discuss career planning, employability advice and recruitment processes.
