If you're graduating next year, participate in the competitive Management Consultancy Challenge brought to you by the BEL Student Employability Team and the UQ Student Employability Centre.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • learn more about this growing employment sector for graduates
  • get a unique opportunity to network with recruiters from top-tier firms
  • prepare for next year's recruitment round through an MBA consultative panel, with BEL SET and the Student Employability Centre support
  • prepare for case study preparation, 3 months prior to application.

Challenge process

1. Apply

AllUQ penultimate students with a GPA of 4.8 and above are invited to apply.

2. Attend workshops

Successful applicants are required to attend the first two workshops:

  • MBA training for Management Consultancy (August)
  • Effective research and strategies for successful employer networking (August)
  • Optional: Case Study Preparation Workshop (November).

3. Attend the Challenge Breakfast

Attendance at both workshops automatically registers you for the Management Consultancy Challenge Breakfast.

Information for students

Preparation workshops

Successful applicants are required to attend two preparation workshops, facilitated by BEL SET and current UQ MBA students:

  • Workshop 1:  Late August - TBC when your application is successful 
  • Workshop 2: Late August - TBC when your application is successful
  • Workshop 3: Late November - TBC when your application is successful (optional)

Each practical workshop runs over an hour and includes 30 minutes of networking at the end (optional). Topics will include: how to write a value proposition, preparation for networking, building case studies and networking from a management consultancy perspective.

Networking Breakfast

The 'speed networking' style Management Consultancy Breakfast will run from 7.00am to 10.30am in early September 2018.

Following a brief presentation from BEL SET and UQ Student Employability Centre, you will have the opportunity to meet with executives in small groups and also network with your peers from other faculties.
