Scholarships and awards

Achieving great results is the result of a lot of hard work, determination and diligence from students often juggling study with part-time work, family commitments and social life. We acknowledge high achievers through awards and prizes, and scholarships based on academic merit.

Archibald Scholarship

  • are commencing the Bachelor of Economics (Honours) program in the year of award; or
  • have completed at least #48 towards the Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours) and intend to, or are currently enrolled in Economics in the year of award; and
  • have obtained an overall GPA of at least 6.50 in the Specified Courses.

Global Leaders Scholarships

For all Global Leaders Scholarships, these eligibility criteria apply:

  • you must not simultaneously hold another scholarship for tuition fees.
  • you have received an offer for a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program and are commencing students at UQ (the opportunity is not open to currently enrolled UQ students, or students studying at UQ on study abroad or exchange).

The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and high achieving students are encouraged to apply.

The Dean's Honour Roll recognises outstanding academic excellence in a student's program of study in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL). Each year a number of undergraduate* and postgraduate* students within the BEL Faculty are eligible for placement on the Dean's Honour Roll. From 2014, the Dean's Honour Roll will be awarded to the top 10% of students graduating from eligible* BEL programs.

*Undergraduate law students and students in an honours program do not receive the Dean’s Honour Roll, given that they may receive on-course honours during their program of study. For postgraduate programs, only masters students may be eligible.
