Recruitment Ready is designed for BEL students to gain insights into real-world recruitment processes, and practice their job application skills.
Delivered with an industry partner, this hands-on program lets students experience a structured recruitment process modelled on current industry practice, helping them to prepare for competitive applications to internships, vacation programs or graduate roles.
Over the course of just a few weeks, Recruitment Ready will help students gain a clear understanding of competitive recruitment processes, from submitting applications to the interview stage.
All students will complete three core components:
Application writing – develop and submit a professional job application that includes a cover letter and resume
Psychometric testing – become familiar with this common assessment tool
Interview – participate in a simulated interview experience
In addition to these compulsory tasks, there is a range of interview-related activities designed to strengthen students’ ability to articulate their value. Students will need to complete at least two additional tasks by the final deadline, but have the flexibility to choose which ones best fit their goals and schedule.
The program is designed for mid-degree students and is best completed before applying for work experience or employment opportunities.
By participating in the program, students will learn:
What to expect from a real-world recruitment process
What behaviours, attributes and 21st-century skills employers are looking for
How to stand out from other candidates to impress recruiters and hiring managers
How to present professionally and articulate your unique value proposition
How to reflect on your experiences and act on constructive feedback to improve for future recruitment processes.
Students who successfully complete all compulsory tasks and at least two additional program tasks will be invited to an exclusive closing event with our industry partner to reflect on learnings from the program, network with industry professionals, and celebrate their achievement!
