Idea development and validation
Structured programs encourage creativity and problem-solving to develop and validate innovative ideas. For example, EIBS7301 Idea Management provides students with an understanding of the importance of technological innovation for economic growth. It focuses on how businesses select and develop ideas, the research and development process, collaboration and open innovation, and the management of intellectual property.
UQ Ventures' Startup AdVentures are four-week learning experiences specialising in innovation and entrepreneurship with local, regional Queensland and global startup communities. Selected UQ students are allocated to a startup for the program's duration to gain first-hand experience of what life in a startup is like, learning from experienced entrepreneurs and innovators to build knowledge on founding, investing and growing an early-stage business.
Transforming research into product
Students will learn to identify market needs, develop innovative solutions, and address intellectual property challenges in courses such as EIBS7302 Managing Innovation, for example.
