Credit or advanced standing

Students who have previously undertaken studies (Bachelor Degree, Associate Degree, Diploma, Higher Diploma, Advanced Diploma) may be eligible to apply for credit towards their UQ program, depending on the duration of their previous studies and the equivalency to our courses here at UQ.

Many institutions from around the globe have agreements with UQ. See if your institution is listed. Even if it isn't you may still be eligible and can contact the International Services Team to find out more.

Please note that if you have already been assessed for advanced standing towards your UQ program (degree) and have been allocated general elective advanced standing - you will only be eligible to complete one major within your studies. Advanced standing towards your program needs to be correct and finalised during your first semester. If you would like to discuss your advanced standing situation, please ensure you contact the Faculty during the first 2 weeks of your first semester of study.
