As a BEL student, you have access to computers and printing services just for you on level 2 of the Chamberlain Building (#35). 215 PCs are available in the main lab (room 204) and spread across teaching and tutorial rooms - 201, 202, 203, 205 and 206.

Use your usual Unicard to pay for prints. 

Terms

  • Food and drink is prohibited.
  • Only staff and students authorised to do so, may enter the Computer Laboratory.
  • Students must not admit unauthorised persons to the Chamberlain Building.
  • Student ID Cards must be shown on request of University staff.
  • Student ID Cards must not be borrowed, lent or shared, and are nontransferable.
  • Students must read, understand and observe the UQ policy and Procedures Library (PPL) section 6.20.01 Acceptable Use of UQ ICT Resources.
  • Students must not use the Internet illicitly.
  • The facilities are provided exclusively for university purposes. Games of any description, whether played individually or as a group, are not to be played in the Computer Laboratory.
  • Priority must be given to students working on course-related activities. Users pursuing another University purpose must vacate machines on request.  
  • Students must not mis-use equipment in the Computer Laboratory.

Saturday and Sunday

After hours swipe card access

Please note that anyone found in the labs after hours without an after hours swipe card and student ID card will be asked to leave by security

Apply for after hours access

  1. Download and complete the after hours form (DOCX, 34KB)
  2. Email the completed form to the BEL Student Centre, level 2, Colin Clark Building (#39)
  3. Staff will place the access onto your student id card, which will be activated within two business days
