Overseas Study Assistance Scholarships

The Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL) offers a limited number of Overseas Study Assistance Scholarships each year, valued at up to AUD $5,000 each for students approved for an outgoing exchange program. These scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in a program administered by the BEL Faculty (including dual programs), who are undertaking an approved exchange semester to a partner institution where the studies will count towards their BEL Faculty program.

Approved BEL Faculty students applying for semester-based exchange to any of the following premier partner institutions in AsiaEurope, Latin America, North America and the United Kingdom will be considered for a scholarship:

    9. Warsaw School of Economics – Poland

    Latin America

    No application is required for BEL Faculty Overseas Study Assistance Scholarships. Recipients will be notified following the exchange application deadline.

    Please note: Any recipient of this scholarship will not be eligible to receive any other university exchange scholarship or travel bursary while in receipt of this scholarship. However, scholarship recipients may still be eligible to apply for an OS-HELP loan. Each recipient will also be required to provide a written testimonial and short video of their time on exchange, and may be required to participate in future exchange promotion.

    Nicolas Baudin Travel Grant

    The Nicolas Baudin travel grant is designed to encourage students to undertake study, research or professional development in France.

    The Travel Grant consists of a return flight ticket between Australia and France (up to the value of AUD$2500). Laureates are also covered by Campus France mutual insurance and exempt from visa fees.

    Nicolas Baudin Internships in France initiative

    The Nicolas Baudin Internships in France initiative offers students from participating Australian universities the opportunity to undertake a research internship at a French host university in collaboration with an industry partner in France.

    Selected interns receive:

    • up to $2,500 from the Embassy of France in Australia to finance the cost of return travel to France;
    • a minimum of 560€ per month (subject to change) from the host institution in France; and
    • $2,500 from the home university in Australia to help cover their daily costs during their stay in France. 

    Applications are open from May-June 2024
