Overseas Study Assistance Scholarships

The BEL Faculty offers 12 Overseas Study Assistance Scholarships per year, valued at AUD $5,000 each for students approved for an outgoing exchange program. These scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in a BEL Faculty program, who are undertaking an approved exchange semester to a partner institution where the studies will count towards their BEL Faculty program.

For exchange studies in 2020, six scholarships per semester will be awarded as follows:

  • Six scholarships to the value of AUD $5,000 will be awarded to BEL Faculty students who undertake approved exchange studies towards their BEL program to any of the following premier partner institutions in Europe, Asia and Latin America:

Europe

  3. City University of London – UK
  4. ESSEC Business School – France
  5. NHH - Norwegian School of Economics – Norway
  6. Queen Mary University London – UK
  7. WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management – Germany
  8. Warsaw School of Economics – Poland
  9. Universidade Catolica Portuguesa – Portugal
  10. University of St. Gallen – Switzerland

Asia

  1. The Chinese University of Hong Kong – Hong Kong
  2. National Chengchi University – Taiwan
  3. National Law School of India University – India
  4. OP Jindal Global University – India
  5. Singapore Management University
  6. Sun Yat Sen University – China
  7. Universitas Indonesia – Indonesia

Latin America

No application is required for BEL Faculty Overseas Study Assistance Scholarships. Recipients will be notified following the exchange application deadline.

Please note: Any recipient of a BEL Faculty scholarship will not be eligible to receive any other university exchange scholarship or travel bursary while in receipt of this scholarship. However, scholarship recipients may still be eligible to apply for OS-HELP loans. Each recipient will also be required to provide a testimonial and photo of their time on exchange, and may be required to participate in future exchange promotion.

Sun Yat-sen University – Lingnan (University) College Scholarship

One scholarship will be awarded in academic year 2019/2020 to an approved BEL student enrolled in a BEL Faculty program, who is undertaking an approved exchange semester to Sun Yat-sen University - Lingnan (University) College in China. The value of the scholarship is 20,000 RMB.

No application is required for the Sun Yat-sen University – Lingnan (University) College Scholarship. Recipients will be notified following the exchange application deadline.

School of Economics scholarships

The School of Economics Jubilee Scholarship is open to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Economics program or a dual program with the Bachelor of Economics.

An application form should be completed and returned to the Head, School of Economics before 16 September for study commencing in semester one or two of the following year.

Nicolas Baudin Travel Grant

The Nicolas Baudin travel grant is designed to encourage students to undertake study, research or professional development in France.

The Travel Grant consists of a return ticket between Australia and France. Laureates are also covered by Campus France mutual insurance and exempt from visa fees.

Nicolas Baudin Internships in France initiative

The Nicolas Baudin Internships in France initiative offers students from participating Australian universities the opportunity to undertake a research internship at a French host university in collaboration with an industry partner in France.

Selected interns receive:

  • up to $2,500 from the Embassy of France in Australia to finance the cost of return travel to France;
  • a minimum of 554€ per month (subject to change) from the host institution in France; and
  • $2,500 from the home university in Australia to help cover their daily costs during their stay in France.
