UQ Business School MBA ranks Number 1 in Australia – again

11 Sep 2015

The University of Queensland Business School’s MBA program has topped the Australian Financial Review BOSS MBA survey for the second consecutive time.

The survey, Australia’s only independent national ranking of MBA programs - is conducted every two years by the Financial Review Group.

UQ Business School Dean Professor Andrew Griffiths said this latest accolade underlined the School’s position as the leading MBA provider outside Europe and North America.

“The UQ Business School MBA is ranked number one in Australia and the Asia Pacific by The Economist and is number 16 worldwide," Professor Griffiths said.

"And Australia’s most influential rating body, the Graduate Management Association of Australia, has awarded our MBA a five-star rating for 10 years in a row.

“Now the AFR BOSS survey confirms the school’s position as a leading provider of quality business education to develop the next generation of global business leaders.”

MBA Program Director Dr Sarah Kelly said UQ Business School’s MBA was not just about management theory, but also learning how to apply it.

“The UQ Business School MBA strikes a balance among academic rigour, practical experience and personal reflection to develop principled leaders who can resolve challenging problems, inspire and motivate others, and bring about systemic change,” Dr Kelly said.

“Our students have plenty of opportunities to put their skills into practice.

"They can choose to work alongside CEOs to resolve real-life business problems, build international experience by collaborating with other business schools to help companies enter the Chinese or US markets, or gain insight into emerging economies through immersion tours.

“We also encourage our business leaders to contribute pro bono through the opportunity to work on community projects. This emphasis on practicality is reflected in the outcomes,” she said.
