The official launch of The University of Queensland law expert, Dr Justine Bell’s, recently published book Climate Change and Coastal Development Law in Australia took place in Brisbane on Wednesday 17th September.
The evening was hosted by DLA Piper and featured a keynote address by the Honourable Justice Brian Preston SC, Chief Judge of The Land and Environment Court of NSW.
Climate Change and Coastal Development Law in Australia provides a comprehensive analysis of the legal issues surrounding the impacts of climate change, and explores the implications of legal risks, how these risks can be managed and what legal approaches can be implemented to reduce the economic impacts of rising sea levels. By providing a multi-jurisdictional analysis of the legal tools available to address the impacts of climate change and reviewing the role of the insurance industry in supplementing government action, this book will be a critical resource for lawyers and policy makers.
