International business lawyers must have a good understanding of the Chinese legal system, University of Queensland Academic Dean and Head of UQ School of Law Professor Patrick Parkinson has confirmed.
Professor Parkinson recently visited eight of China’s top law schools to foster partnerships that will benefit UQ researchers and students.
“Understanding Chinese law and its legal system is very important for Australian lawyers wanting to engage in international business,” he said.
“Given the close economic relationship between China and Australia it is also important for many Chinese lawyers to have an understanding of Australian law.”
