2022 Australia Day Honours awarded to BEL community

Eight alumni and community members from The University of Queensland’s Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL) have received 2022 Australia Day Honours.

The annual awards celebrate Australians who have made positive contributions to the nation. BEL honourees include John Wylie AM, who was recognised as a Companion of the Order of Australia for his strong community service and leadership across the business, sporting, cultural and philanthropic sectors.

BEL Faculty Executive Dean Professor Andrew Griffiths said the honourees were “true role models”.

“It’s always a pleasure to hear about the generosity, dedication and stewardship demonstrated by our BEL community members,” Professor Griffiths said.

“This year’s Australia Day Honours recipients have made an impact in a broad range of fields, including community health, education, sport, the arts and the business sector.

“I look forward to seeing what they achieve next.”
