Leading teaching

We understand how important it is for our students to learn from the very best teachers offering the latest thinking and practices.

We strive to create exciting and relevant programs across our diverse range of subject offerings enabling our teachers to demonstrate their expertise both within and beyond the classroom. In doing so, the BEL Faculty continues to build a strong reputation in leading teaching.

Award winning teachers
We recognise and reward excellence in teaching at both School and Faculty levels, with many of our teachers receiving further acclaim for their teaching innovation and excellence via institutional and national teaching awards.
Teaching and learning innovation
Our teachers are competitive in winning grants that help them to support, progress and lead activities related to teaching and learning innovation.
Teaching fellowships
In recognising individuals for their personal and institutional commitment to professionalism in learning and teaching in higher education, the Higher Education Academy (HEA) awards Fellowships across four categories: Associate Fellow, Fellow, Senior Fellow and Principal Fellow.
Scholarly teaching
Our teaching is relevant and informed by latest research findings. This is because the majority of our academic staff hold PhDs and produce research papers that are consistently cited in the world’s top tier journals. Our teachers engage in a range of scholarly activities – such as Communities of Practice – that enable reflection, sharing and the influencing of practice, both within and beyond the institution.
Globally recognised programs
In BEL, our three Schools – Business, Economics and Law – are globally recognised for the quality of programs and experiences we provide. This is made possible by our teachers who are leaders in their respective fields.
