As part of the Queensland in July program, students will travel to North Stradbroke Island for a 2-day/1-night stay. Students will have the opportunity to explore the incredible diversity of North Stradbroke Island and Moreton Bay, and undertake a meaningful and challenging out-of-classroom, extracurricular learning experience.

 

The North Stradbroke Island excursion is included in the cost of the program and includes:

  • Transport to and from the Island
  • Transport on the Island
  • Catering
  • Accommodation at MBRS (UQ discounted rate)
  • Custom designed education program
  • A variety of different activities, including a presentation by a traditional owner of Minjerrinbah/North Stradbroke Island, Lecture from the Economic Transition Strategy Group, a tour of Brown Lake, Gorge walk and wildlife spotting
  • University of Queensland tutors
  • Risk Assessments for all activities

The trip to North Stradbroke Island and will involve some walking.

In addition to suitable clothing for two days and one night, please make sure you bring along a hat, sunscreen and a pair of comfortable walking shoes.
