Scholarships and awards

Achieving great results is the result of a lot of hard work, determination and diligence from students often juggling study with part-time work, family commitments and social life. The Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL) acknowledges high achievers through awards and prizes, and scholarships based on academic merit.

The Dean's Honour Roll recognises outstanding academic excellence in a student's program of study in the BEL Faculty. Each year a number of undergraduate* and postgraduate* students within the BEL Faculty are eligible for placement on the Dean's Honour Roll. From 2014, the Dean's Honour Roll will be awarded to the top 10% of students graduating from eligible* BEL programs.

The Archibald Scholarship

Since 1911 the Archibald Scholarship has supported UQ’s best economics students. The School of Economics is building the Archibald Scholarship into the most prestigious economics scholarship in the Asia-Pacific.

BDO Future Finance Leaders Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage and assist students of the Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics program.

This scholarship is awarded to students identifying as of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent enrolling or intending to enrol in an undergraduate program offered by the Business School.

The Frank Finn Scholarships reward hard work and support continued academic excellence in the study of commerce at The University of Queensland.

The J.M. Donnelly Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage and support female students of Samoan heritage to undertake studies in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law at The University of Queensland.

The McLennan Howes Outstanding Honours Collaboration Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage collaboration and development of teamwork attributes between top students from the honours programs of the School of Business and/or the School of Economics at The University of Queensland.

Thomas A Plein Foundation Scholarship for USA Students

The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage and support citizens of The United States of America who are enrolled in an approved program administered by the Business, Economics or Law schools at The University of Queensland.

Dean's Honour Roll

The Dean's Honour Roll recognises outstanding academic excellence in a student's program of study in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL).
