I love knowing I am being educated at a leading university, taught by inspirational and talented academics, and surrounded by high-achieving future leaders.

Why did you choose to study at UQ?:

I chose to study at UQ because it is one of the best universities in Australia and is consistently ranked alongside the best universities in the world. UQ has an incredible campus and lifestyle, with so many societies and events that really creates a diverse and welcoming environment. In saying this, it is also a challenging environment where you can really push yourself. The university provides tremendous support to ensure one can achieve their academic and career aspirations.

At UQ it is easy to feel at home. I constantly feel energised and inspired every time I walk through the great court, and under the sandstone arches. I feel this because I know, UQ paves a way to a bright future and all the opportunities UQ provides are there for the taking.

What are the best things about your program and about UQ?:

I love knowing I am being educated at a leading university, taught by inspirational and talented academics, and surrounded by high-achieving future leaders. One of the best things about the Bachelor of Commerce degree is its rich and proven history in creating leaders in finance and accounting. I also love having full confidence that I can work for a firm overseas, as my degree is fully accredited degree.

Have you been involved in any social activities or extra-curricular activities at UQ?:

I find it very important to give back to my university and community for all the opportunities they provide. In 2016, I was one of the founding members and chairman of the Bachelor of Commerce Student Committee, where we work together and discuss options to establish communication channels to reach the broader BCom cohort; to make improvements to the already world renowned Commerce program run by the UQ Business School. I am also an active and passionate executive member of The University of Queensland Business Association (UQBA) the largest student business society in Queensland. I hold the leadership position of IT Director and created the UQBA website and online presence.

I enjoy putting my hand up for any contribution the business school or university need, such as volunteering at UQ Open Day as a Bachelor of Commerce Ambassador, volunteering as a student representative for the UQ Business School review and AACSB reaccreditation review, undergraduate student representative in the Business School Review Committee, Bachelor of Commerce representative in the BEL Faculty Annual Student Photoshoot, and student society representative at BELfest, a first year student event.

I have also participated in numerous employability programs such as the Management Consulting Challenge 2017, Westpac Youth Network Summit, and competitions such as FMAA case competition, and UBS investment banking competition making the campus finals for each. I have also had a hand creating the UQBA Marketing Competition for UQ students, which is an annual event sponsored by Ogilvy. I am also a volunteer consultant under the UQ Community Engagement Program for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, with the aim to further develop their Environmental Management System.
