Mazda was today announced as the exclusive sponsor of the Business Economics Law Faculty’s Alumni Lecture Series for 2016.
Mazda Australia Managing Director Martin Benders (Bachelor of Commerce Hons ’74) is a member of the UQ Business, Economics and Law Alumni Ambassador Council in Melbourne and Chair of the Mazda Foundation.
The series of free events for UQ’s business, economics and law alumni features leaders in business, finance, economics, entrepreneurship, tourism and law and are held in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
Mr Benders said UQ and Mazda have a strong brand affinity.
“As Mazda continues to grow in this country thanks to product and business innovation, we see the engagement with UQ as a great way to grow our brand awareness with Alumni while supporting an engaging free lecture series.”
UQ Faculty of Business, Economics and Law Director, Advancement, Dr Jason Ketter, said the sponsorship would ensure the popular series would continue to be a free event for alumni and their guests.
“The Alumni Lecture Series is very popular and well attended,” Dr Ketter said.
“This year we will be offering nine thought-provoking events featuring industry leaders.
“At each of these events we will be offering an outstanding student a scholastic prize, to assist with their studies, on behalf of UQ and Mazda.”
The first lecture for 2016 will feature Wagners Managing Director Denis Wagner and will be held in Brisbane on February 17.
