It is essential to plan your program of study so that prerequisite courses are completed prior to enrolment in advanced courses.

The following program plans will assist you to see in which year and semester of your program you should enrol in particular courses. There are program plans for single degrees and dual degrees, and both semester one and semester two commencements.

We strongly recommend you follow your program’s plan to ensure you have the best chance of completing your degree with minimal complications.

If you're thinking of upgrading to another program through your current enrolment, contact us for advice on your course selection.

Dual programs

Dual program plans are available from the program information on Programs and Courses.

If you commenced a Bachelor of Laws dual program prior to 2015, you can obtain your program information, including your dual program plan here.

Planning your program

To plan your program, you should:

  1. Read the official rules and course lists available from the 'Program Rules and Requirements' link for your program on Programs and Courses.
  2. Refer to the recommended program plan for your program (see above).
  3. Identify which semester/s a course is offered and whether it has any prerequisite courses and/or restrictions.
  4. Ensure prerequisite courses are successfully completed in a semester prior to enrolment in the advanced course.
  5. Attend appropriate information sessions held prior to and during Orientation Week.
  6. If necessary and after the above, consult a Student Experience Officer (initial enquiries can be made at the BEL Student Centre).

Progression Checks

If you are a continuing student, or have received credit from previous study and would like to identify what courses you have remaining to complete to satisfy the rules and requirements of your program, you can download and complete a Progression Check. This can be emailed to the Faculty for verification. Please note that the courses in the Progression Check sheet are listed in alpha-numeric order (rather than the order you should complete them). For recommendations on which semester to take courses, refer to the Program Plans above.
