Federica Calissano

Having the opportunity to engage with people from all parts of the world was great for my personal development.

What do you think of Brisbane?

I like Brisbane a lot. Coming from London, it’s nice to be in a city where everything is so nearby and accessible. I think Brisbane is a very international city, I loved meeting people from all different parts of the world. It was a really beautiful thing to see so many cultures in the one place.

How was your UQ experience?

My UQ experience was not only academic but also a personal one. UQ has a diverse study body which allowed me to meet and study with people from all different parts of the world. Having the opportunity to engage with people from different cultures was great for my personal development. That’s why I think UQ is a really good university to attend – you learn so much more than just course content.

Would you consider returning?

I would like to return to UQ next year to complete my year abroad. Even in London people rave about UQ for its environment and opportunities.

There are so many opportunities in Australia that you can’t get elsewhere.

I would recommend coming to Australia to anyone - for a semester, a year or even just a holiday.
