How funds are used
The annual UQ Rugby Benefit Dinner was established in 2014 to celebrate the tradition of rugby at The University of Queensland. The event showcases Australian and international rugby legends and raises much needed support for the UQ Rugby Football Club (UQRFC) and the student athlete.
To date, more than AU$245,000 has been raised by alumni and friends of UQ through the UQ Rugby Benefit Dinner.
Contributions making an impact:
- The establishment of the Mark Loane Medal and support of recipient’s Academy fees, travel and accommodation;
- Concussion management program through HeadSmart, which will monitor the concussion history of all UQRFC's playing members and deal with immediate on-field incidents;
- Ongoing growth of the UQ Rugby Sevens Program for men and women;
- Support ongoing operations of the UQ Rugby Club and ensure a best practice environment for players, coaches and staff;
- Support for Play Rugby USA, a non-profit organisation developing youth through rugby.
We invite you to consider making a donation to the UQ Rugby Scholar Athlete and the UQ Rugby Club program. A receipt will be issued for all ticket sales and gifts. All gifts to The University of Queensland in America are processed in US dollars and are tax-deductible in the United States to the extent allowed by law.
