Closing the gender pay gap

ABC Radio National's PM program explored the proposed Federal Government's changes to flexibility around when new parents can take paid parental leave.

The announcement was part of the Government's Women's Economic Security Statement, which aims to provide better financial support to women.

AIBE Centre for Gender Equality in the Workplace Director and UQ Business School researcher Dr Terry Fitzsimmons comments on the choices family's have to make about which parent stays at home to care for children, and the need for cultural change to build a more equal and fair system (listen from 3 mins 35 secs).
